The QHSE Field Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation and maintenance of QHSE Policies and Procedures at various field sites. This pivotal role involves conducting inspections, audits, and training sessions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. The QHSE Field Associate's contributions also extend to supporting the hazard identification, assessment, and control implementation across the project, facilities, and Business Units. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to promoting a safe and healthy work environment, knowing that their work directly impacts the success and safety of the Company operations in achieving the QHSE Objectives and targets.

  • Perform regular site inspections to ensure compliance with QHSE standards and Onward Safety Directives.
  • Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of QHSE programs.
  • Maintain the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and communicate with the site/project personnel.
  • Assist in developing and delivering QHSE training programs for employees and contractors.
  • Promote awareness of QHSE policies and procedures through regular training sessions.
  • Ensure that all personnel are adequately trained in emergency response procedures.
  • Assist the operation/project/facilities in implementing the HSE risk management program.
  • Ensure all identified controls are effectively implemented and assessed regularly.
  • Participate in the investigation of incidents and near-misses.
  • Participate in the root causes analysis and prepare the reports on findings and recommended corrective/preventive actions.
  • Track and analyze the incident data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated with relevant QHSE regulations and industry standards.
  • Ensure that field operations comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory reports and documentation, including OSHA logs and BLS statistics.
  • Coordinate and participate in regulatory HSE-related inspections.
  • Support the development and implementation of QHSE improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of QHSE programs and recommend enhancements.
  • Participate in QHSE committee meetings and other QHSE-related meetings and contribute to the continual improvement process.
  • Implement the HSE Activity Plan and monitor the progress.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date QHSE records and documentation.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all inspections, audits, and training activities.
  • Prepare and submit regular project/site QHSE performance reports to management.
  • Capture the weekly and monthly man-hours for projects/facilities/Business Lines. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, or a related field.
  • Entry level, 0 to 4 years of experience in QHSE roles, preferably in the pipeline, construction, or fabrication.
  • Strong knowledge of QHSE regulations, best practices, and QHSE Management System.
  • Excellence in communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Certification in QHSE-related discipline is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to various field sites as required.
  • Dual language is a plus (English and Spanish).

Working Condition
